The 1983 women's cross country team is the first women's team and third overall to be enshrined in the Bearcats Hall of Fame.
The team capped a dominant season by placing fifth at the the NCAA Championship - the highest national finish of any women's team in school history. Along the way the team captured the program's first SUNYAC Championship, placed third at the ECAC and New York State meets and then took second at the NCAA New York Regional, to earn a trip to the national championship in Newport News, Va.
They were led by All-Americans Alice Willis and Marilyn Milligan. the Colonials placed fifth out of 12 elite schools.
