A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Andrea Holmes played basketball at Binghamton from 2008-2012. The program's only four-time America East all-conference selection, Holmes tallied 1,557 career points, second-most during BU's Division I era.
She burst onto the scene as a highly-touted freshman point guard and delivered with America East Rookie of the Year and the first of her all-conference honors. She averaged 10.0 points and her 4.1 assists ranked fourth in the league.
In 2009-10, Holmes lifted her scoring average to 13.3 points and her 4.7 assists ranked third in the conference. She notched two double-doubles with a penchant for attacking the boards and was named second team all-conference after guiding the Bearcats to another top-four America East finish.
As a junior, Holmes played nearly 39 minutes a game and was voted one of the top five players in the conference. She led the Bearcats to a 19-win season that featured 11 league wins and ended in the America East semifinals. Holmes averaged 14.3 points and drilled 51 three-pointers to reach the 1,000-point scoring mark — becoming the first Division I Bearcat to achieve the milestone in her junior season.
In her final campaign, Holmes pushed her scoring average to 15.1 points in conference play and garnered her fourth all-conference selection. She tallied 448 points and finished her career third in scoring and assists and sixth in three-pointers.
Holmes is the only player in the program's Division I history to lead the team in scoring three consecutive seasons and is the only player to average double-digit points all four years. She was selected as the 2012 John Bilos Award recipient for career achievement.
She earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy, politics and law in 2012.
