A native of Centennial, Colo., Jacki Kane played volleyball at Binghamton from 2004-07. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science and English in 2008. Kane was one of the most formidable middle blockers in school and conference history and graduated as Binghamton's all-time career blocks leader with 609. She was a four-time all-conference selection, including the final three seasons as a member of the first team.
As a sophomore, Kane led the Bearcats to their first-ever America East title and NCAA berth. She hit .295, amassed 162 blocks and sparked BU to a 10-2 conference record. At the America East championship, Kane was named Most Outstanding Performer after second-seeded BU won a pair of four-set matches to lift the trophy.
In 2006, Kane again led the entire America East in blocks (161) and steered the Bearcats to a 9-3 conference mark and
regular season runner-up honors. As a senior, Kane was a force at the net, compiling a school record and conference-best 186 blocks - a total that ranked eighth in the entire nation. She was voted first team all-conference middle blocker for the third straight year after leading the America East in blocks for a third consecutive season. Along the way, Kane eclipsed the 1,000-kill mark, becoming one of just eight players in school history to do so.
She graduated with 1,032 kills, sixth-most in program history. She was named BU's "Athlete of the Year" in 2007-08 and also received the John Bilos Alumni Award in 2008. A six-time Dean's List recipient and Phi Beta Kappa member, Kane was also BU's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee. She was recognized as a scholar-athlete by the America East, SUNY Chancellor and Arthur Ashe Foundation.
