Binghamton University Athletics

A native of Campbell Hall, N.Y., Meghan Taylor played soccer at Binghamton from 2002-06. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance in 2006 and went on to earn her MBA from Mount St. Mary College in 2010. 

Taylor was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-region defender who steered the Bearcats to their historic first NCAA Division I tournament berth in 2004. She was a force on the back line, starting 70 games and helping produce 29 shutouts in her four-year tenure. 

As a freshman, Taylor started all 18 games, and along with limiting conference foes to less than a goal a game, she chipped in two goals and five points on the attack for a nine-win Bearcats team. She earned the first of her three all-conference accolades. 

In 2003, she worked through a knee injury and played 12 games for a BU lineup that repeated with nine wins.

In 2004, Taylor and her teammates orchestrated a magical season that concluded with the team's first America East regular season and tournament titles, Division I-era best 14 wins and an inaugural NCAA Division I tournament appearance, where they drew national attention with a matchup against No. 2 Penn State. Taylor led the teams to a pair of postseason shutout wins and scored the game-winning goal in the 2-0 title game victory. 

Postseason accolades included being named America East Championship MVP, first team all-conference and second team all-region.

In her final collegiate season, team MVP Taylor led the Bearcats to another double-digit win total and repeat first team all-conference and all-region honors. The defense allowed just 16 goals in 20 games and recorded 10 shutouts.             

She was honored with the Jessie Godfrey Award for career achievement.
