A native of Lochem, Netherlands, Sven Flutegraven played tennis at Binghamton from 2007-2011.

A two-time NCAA qualifier, three-time America East Player of the Year and four-time team MVP, Vloedgraven led BU to four consecutive conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances.

Vloedgraven won his first collegiate dual match at No. 6 singles but by the time the year ended, he was entrenched at the No. 2 spot. In the America East championship against UMBC, Vloedgraven posted wins at second singles and second doubles to key BU's 4-3 title-clinching win.

As a sophomore, he went 17-5 in duals and shined brightest in the spring, when he posted back-to-back singles wins at No. 1 to lead the Bearcats to a second straight America East crown and NCAA tournament berth.

In 2009-10, Vloedgraven went a combined 44-8 at the top singles and doubles spots and burst onto the national scene with clutch tournament play. At the ITA Northeast Regional, he steamrolled through the 128-man, Ivy League-heavy draw with six straight wins to become Binghamton's first Division I regional champion. In the spring, he earned his first national ranking and the powerful Bearcats rolled to 20 straight dual wins and another America East crown. Vloedgraven repeated as conference player of the year and earned his first trip to the NCAA Singles Championship, garnering a final national ranking of No. 115 in the country.

As a senior, he rolled to a 32-8 year that was capped with another ITA regional title in the fall and a fourth America East team title in the spring. Vloedgraven went 21-2 in singles duals, was ranked as high as No. 55 in the nation and received a second-straight berth to the NCAA Singles Championship. In his final two years, he went 44-5 in singles duals.

Vloedgraven finished his career as the program's all-time wins leader in singles (113) and doubles (72). An exceptional student and sportsman, he was a two-time America East Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was selected as the John Bilos Award winner in 2011.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2011.
