Women’s Basketball Hosts Roberts Wesleyan

Bearcats and Redhawks tip off Friday at 6:07 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's team that finished 13-17, 6-10 AE) and placed sixth in the America East. Graduate student guard Denai Bowman – a three-time, all-conference selection – was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team for the second year in a row. The Bearcats as a team were picked to finish fourth out of nine squads.

- Bowman is one of four returning starters for the Bearcats. She joins redshirt sophomores Ella Wanzer and Jadyn Weltz as well as junior Genevieve Coleman. Waner and Weltz were named to the America East All-Rookie Team last year. Weltz also joined Bowman on the America East All-Defensive Team.

- Binghamton opens its 2023-24 regular season on Monday at home against Bloomsburg.

- Roberts Wesleyan is a NCAA Division II program located in Rochester, N.Y. Known as the Redhawks, it competes in the East Coast Conference (ECC).

- The Redhawks finished 4-19 overall (3-13 ECC). This season, Roberts Wesleyan was picked to finish ninth in the ECC

- It's been 33 years since Binghamton and Roberts Wesleyan have faced off in women's basketball. Back then, the Binghamton program was known as the Colonials and competed at the NCAA Division III level. On Dec. 16, 1979, Binghamton defeated Roberts Wesleyan by way of forfeit. On Nov. 20, 1990, however, Roberts Wesleyan defeated Binghamton 58-44 at the old West Gym.
