Rebecca Kessler has been named America East Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Kessler made seven stops, including several stellar diving saves, in a scoreless draw at Cornell Sunday. It was Kessler's second shutout of the season and lowered her season goals against average to a scant 0.86. Kessler leads the America East in goals against average and ranks second in save percentage (.833).Â
The Bearcats concluded non-conference play with a 5-1-2 mark and a five-game unbeaten streak.Â
