Heather Colby enters her 10th season as the diving coach with Binghamton in 2024-25. Under her watch, the Bearcats have developed one of the top diving programs in the America East Conference.
Since Colby joined the program, Binghamton has posted a combined total of 13 individual America East Diving titles and 26 all-conference selections. In addition, Binghamton has had seven Most Outstanding Diver Awards at the conference meet under her watch as well as eight America East All-Academic honorees.
The crowning moment for Colby and the Binghamton divers came during the 2021 America East Championships. Binghamton was the host for the diving events and proceded to sweep all four individual titles. David Walters won both men's boards and was named the Most Outstanding Men's Diver. Sophia Howard did the same in the women's events. The Bearcats also swept all three medals in both men's events.
Walters was also named the Most Outstanding Men's Diver at the 2018 America East Championship Meet while Amanda McGraw took the women's honor the following year. In 2020, however, Chris Egan became the first diver coached by Colby to sweep both diving events at the America East Championships en route to being named the Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet. Egan duplicated that feat in 2022 and Ryan Cohn continued the tradition in 2023.
During the 2018-19 season, four divers met the qualifying standard for the NCAA Zone Meet - Walters, Egan, Howard and McGraw. In 2022, Egan and McGraw qualified and took part in the meet.
A 2015 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Colby was an All-American Diver as a senior as well as a four-time NCAA Zone qualifier. She was part of a Fredonia team that swept the top five places at the 2012 SUNYAC championships. Colby was also named to the 2014 SUNYAC All-Academic Team
