Baseball player Jake Thomas has been named the Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC Athlete of the Week for February 9-15. Thomas had a big weekend to open the season for the Bearcats, who posted a landmark road win over SEC member Auburn. In Game 2 of the series, he went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI, pacing BU to an 11-5 victory. With the game tied at 2-2 in the sixth inning, Thomas belted a fastball high over the wall in left field to drive in three. He then provided insurance in the eighth inning with a two-run triple. His four hits in the second game tied his career high and he had base hits in the other two games to finish the weekend with a .462 average. For his efforts, Thomas was also named the America East Player of the Week.
