ATHLETIC ENDOWMENTS
An endowment gift is one of the most powerful gifts a donor can make to Binghamton University.
A charitable gift designated as an endowment is managed and invested by the Binghamton University Foundation. A portion of the earnings is then used to fund the scholarship or program for which it is designated. An endowment preserves capital, overcomes inflation and provides long-term, reliable income to support Binghamton University.
Athletic scholarship endowments help underwrite the costs of tuition, room, board and books for a number of student-athletes. These endowments provide a permanent source of revenue to aid student-athletes and allow them to develop and contend for championships each year. The interest revenue generated by the named scholarship endowments partially offset the financial aid the athletics department funds each year in the form of athletic scholarships.
