In September 2025, The Binghamton University Division of Athletics announced the creation of its first-ever philanthropic giving societies: the
1946 Legacy Society and the
Bearcat Society. These societies mark an important milestone, celebrating the University's rich athletic history while advancing the success of current and future student-athletes.
The
1946 Legacy Society, recognizing annual contributions of $10,000 or more, commemorates the year Binghamton, then known as Triple Cities College, fielded its first intercollegiate athletic teams. Members of this society are among the University's most dedicated benefactors, whose generosity enables Binghamton Athletics to compete at the highest levels of NCAA Division I competition.
The
Bearcat Society, recognizing annual contributions between $1,000 and $9,999, is named in honor of Baxter the Bearcat, the University's beloved mascot. Members demonstrate a strong commitment to Binghamton Athletics by providing vital resources that enrich the academic and athletic experiences of student-athletes.
Both societies offer exclusive engagement opportunities, including special events, insider communications, recognition in select publications, and unique opportunities to connect directly with coaches, student-athletes, and fellow supporters.
