Cassella took home the EIWA championship at 174 lbs., after winning all three of his matches at the conference tournament over the weekend. With his performance, Cassella earned an automatic bid for the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships. He is also one of two wrestlers to be given the Coaches' Trophy for being voted as the outstanding wrestler at the tournament. He is the first Bearcat wrestler to receive this honor.
