Junior baseball player Paul Rufo has been named the Wells Fargo Advisors LLC Athlete of the week for March 6. Rufo helped lead the Bearcats to an unprecedented four-game sweep of 19th-ranked Virginia Tech on the road. It was the first time in more than 100 years that an opponent has swept Virginia Tech in a four-game series in Backsburg, Virginia.

Rufo hit .476 in the series and had 10 hits and six RBIs. He tied a career-high with five RBIs in the extra-inning Game 2 victory. For the season, Rufo is hitting .395 with eight RBIs in nine games and at 7-3, the Bearcats are off to their best start in their Division I history.
