DURHAM, N.H. – Alli Rozelle scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 54th minute to lift New Hampshire (4-10-1, 2-4 AE) to a 2-1 win over visiting Binghamton (4-9-1, 1-4-1 AE) in an America East women's soccer game Sunday afternoon from Lewis Fields.

With the win, UNH jumped two points ahead of BU and into sixth place in the standings with the top six teams advancing to the America East tournament. Each team has two games remaining in the regular season.

Rozelle converted from the 12-yard spot at 53:29, snapping a 1-1 tie. The infraction was still unclear to Binghamton coach Sarah McClellan after the game.

"I thought we definitely were as talented out there today," she said. "But we gave up a bad goal in the first half and then the penalty kick call … I just don't know what it was or who it was on."

Binghamton opened the scoring in the 21st minute when sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Cook converted a penalty kick of her own after senior striker Annmarie Rizzi was taken down in the box. Cook made no mistake in notching her first goal of the season. She also became the 10th BU player to score a goal this season, though each player has just one goal.

New Hampshire tied the game six minutes later on a scramble in front of the goal.

The Bearcats held a 15-11 margin in shots and earned five corner kicks.

Binghamton hosts Vermont on Thursday and UMBC on Sunday to complete the regular season. McClellan believes her team likely has to win both games to reach the postseason for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

"We probably have to win out to get in," she said. "We put our backs against the wall but we have the ability to do it."
