WEST HARTFORD, Conn – Connor Yeaney scored a pair of goals, including the game winner in overtime, leading Hartford (11-5-2) to a 2-1 overtime win over Binghamton (5-14-1) in an America East semifinal game on Wednesday night at Al Marzook Field. The game marked the Bearcats' first appearance in the semifinals since 2008.

With time running down in the first sudden-death overtime period, Udi Cohen took a corner kick for the Hawks. Following a scramble in front of the goal, Yeaney banged the ball into the net from close range.

Yeaney's first goal of the game, which also came off a corner kick, broke a scoreless tie in the 74th minute. Rohan Roye, who took the kick, was credited with the assist.

Less than two minutes later, however, sophomore back Zach Galluzzo answered with his first goal of the season. His blast, which was fired from 16 yards out, was assisted by senior midfielder Tommy Moon.

In overtime, Jhamie Hyde of Hartford was given a red card when he prevented a breakaway by senior back Derrick Ladeairous by grabbing him down from behind. The Hawks played a man down the ensuing five minutes before taking the decisive corner kick.

Hartford held a 20-4 shot advantage for the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Moewes made six saves for the Bearcats.
