Women’s Basketball Beats Mansfield In Home Exhibition 83-60

Sina paces five players in double figures with game-high 18 points

VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman point guard Jasmine Sina scored a game-high 18 points, pacing Binghamton to an 83-60 win over Mansfield on Friday night in a women's exhibition game at the Events Center. The game marked the Bearcats' lone preseason game heading into the 2014-15 season.

On a night where all five starters reached double figures in scoring, Sina drained a game-high six three-point field goals. Senior forward Sherae Swinson added 17 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, freshman guard Imani Watkins and junior guard Kim Albrecht each added 16 points while sophomore Kristin Ross chipped in 11 points.

"I am very proud of our team tonight," first-year head coach Linda Cimino said. "We were able to turn up the tempo as the game went on and hustled the entire game. The team played very well together."

With the game tied at 20-20, the Bearcats went on a 17-9 run in the final 8:33 of the first half. Albrecht led the way with seven points during that stretch while Swinson added four points.

The Bearcats blew the game open in the second half with a 13-4 run in a span of 4:13 to go up 60-45 with 11:45 left in regulation. Watkins netted five points during that span.

Binghamton's final run was 12-4 blitz in a span of 5:29, which stretched the lead to 76-53 with 4:14 left to go.

Sina and Albrecht each dished out a game-high five assists.

For the game, Binghamton shot 49.2 percent (29-59) and made 10 three-point field goals.

Katie Fitzpatrick led Mansfield with 14 points.

The regular season for Binghamton starts next Friday with a 6 p.m. game at Akron.
