Box Score (PDF)VESTAL, N.Y. – Visiting Siena had four players reach double figures in scoring en route to a 62-53 win over Binghamton in a non-conference women's basketball game on Friday night at the Events Center. The game marked the first of three consecutive road contests for the Bearcats.
Margot Hetzke, Meghan Donahue and Symone Kelly all finished with a team-high 12 points for the Saints. Tehresa Coles, meanwhile, turned in an 11-point, six-rebound, seven assist, five steal performance.
For the Bearcats, freshman point guard
Jasmine Sina poured in a game-high 21 points, marking the third time this season she has reached the 20-point mark. She drained five three-point field goals in the process. Also reaching double figures in scoring were freshman guard
Imani Watkins (14) and junior guard
Kim Albrecht (11).
A three pointer by Sina gave the Bearcats a 19-16 lead with 6:06 left in the first half. From there, however, the Bearcats could muster only two more points over the remainder of the first half and trailed 22-21 at the break.
The Saints opened up the second half with eight straight points to go up 29-21. Coles had five of her points during that run.
Albrecht connected on a three-point field goal to pull Binghamton to within 40-37 with 10:36 remaining in regulation. Siena responded, however, with a 16-5 run to go up 56-42 with 4:50 left to go. Symone Kelly led balanced attack with five points during that stretch.
Binghamton hosts Rider on Sunday at 2 p.m.
