Women's Basketball Heads to Xavier

Bearcats and Musketeers Tip Off on Saturday at 2 p.m.




STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-3) lost 80-50 at Canisius on Wednesday night. Sophomore guard Imani Watkins finished with a game-high 21 points while sophomore forward Alyssa James had 17 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Rebecca Carmody added eight points, four rebounds and a career-high five steals.
 
- James continues to lead the Bearcats with 15.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. Watkins, meanwhile, is averaging 14.8 points per game.
 
- Xavier (3-1) defeated Southeastern Louisiana State 67-27 on Wednesday night. Kayla Davis and Briana Glover led a balanced attack with 10 points each. Anniina Ajanen grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds and Imani Partlow added 12 rebounds.
 
- For the season, Raeshaun Gaffney leads the Musketeers with 11.0 points per game. Allyah Zantt ranks second with 10.5 points per contest.
 
- In the only previous meeting between the two squads, Xavier defeated Binghamton 89-71 at the Events Center on Nov. 22, 2014. Current sophomore guard Imani Watkins scored 19 points in that game for the Bearcats.
 
- In three of its first five games this season, a Binghamton player has scored at least 20 points. Sophomore guard Imani Watkins had 20 points against Bucknell on Nov 18 in addition to her 21-point performance against Canisius. Sophomore forward Alyssa James, meanwhile, netted a career-best 21 points against Cedar Crest on Nov. 21.
