The Bearcats advanced to the semifinal round that year, beating Boston University 63-58 before falling to top-seeded Hartford 56-46 in the semifinals. In the game against the Terriers, the Bearcats came back from a 29-12 first-half deficit.
- Binghamton (4-25) is making its 14th appearance in the America East Tournament, having gone 5-13 since 2002. The Bearcats have reached the conference semifinals in five out of the last nine seasons, with the most recent trip coming in 2012.

Jasmine Sina leads the Bearcats with 14.7 points per game, which ranks fifth in the America East. It is also the highest scoring average by a Binghamton player since Rachel Laws also averaged 14.7 points during the 2003-04 season. Furthermore, Sina's total represents the highest average by an America East rookie since Chantel Alford scored 14.9 points during the 2009-10 campaign.

Imani Watkins have combined for eight America East Rookie of the Week honors so far this season. Sina was the pick on Dec. 1, Dec. 29, Jan. 5, Feb. 2 and Feb. 9 while Watkins was selected on Nov. 17, Nov. 24 and Dec. 22.
- Binghamton has won a pair of conference championships during its 41-year women's basketball program history. As a NCAA Division III institution, it won the 1997 SUNYAC (State University of New York Athletic Conference) title. Two years later, Binghamton won the NECC (New England College Conference) crown as a Division I school. In addition, Binghamton won both the 2000 and 2001 ECAC Division II championships as an independent program.
