Women's Basketball Heads to Hartford

STORY LINES

Binghamton (6-9, 1-1 AE) defeated New Hampshire 51-50 on Saturday at the Events Center on a buzzer-beating basket by freshman guard Rebecca Carmody. Sophomore guard Imani Watkins scored a game-high 20 points, had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Sophomore forward Alyssa James finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Senior guard Kim Albrecht added 13 points.
 
James ranks third in the America East in scoring (17.2 ppg.) and rebounding (8.5 rpg) and is first with 3.1 blocks. She has also posted five double-doubles. 

Sophomore guard Imani Watkins is fifth in the America East in scoring (16.6 ppg.), second in assists (4.9 apg.) and is third in steals (2.3 spg.). Albrecht is averaging 11.4 points per game and is tied for second in the America East with 2.3 three-point field goals per game.

Hartford (5-9, 1-0 AE) last played on Jan. 6, when it defeated UMass Lowell 72-59 at Chase Family Arnea. Mallory Shickora connected on five three-pointers to lead the Hawks with a career and game-high 17 points while Darby Lee finished with 16 points and Deanna Mayza, who leads the Hawks with 12.4 points per game, had 10 points and 12 assists. 

Hartford leads the all-time series 24-8, having swept both of last year's meetings. The Hawks won 59-44 at home on Jan. 6, 2015 and were triumphant 51-46 at the Evetns Cetner on Feb. 4 of last season. The Bearcats' last win at Chase Family Arena was a 48-45 decision in the 2012 America East quarterfinals.
