STORY LINES

Binghamton (7-9, 2-1 AE) won 53-47 at Hartford last Wednesday. Imani Watkins poured in a game-high 19 points and added five rebounds, four assists and pair of steals. Sophomore forward Alyssa James finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds to record her team-best sixth double-double. Freshman guard Rebecca Carmody, meanwhile, added 15 points and eight rebounds.
 
James ranks third in the America East in scoring (16.9 ppg.), fourth in rebounding (8.8 rpg) and is first with 3.0 blocks. Watkins is fourth in the conference in scoring (16.8 ppg.), third in assists (4.9 apg.) and is fourth in steals (2.3 spg.). Senior guard Kim Albrecht is averaging 11.1 points per game and is tied for second in the America East with 2.2 three-point field goals per game and leads the conference with a .892 free throw percentage.

Albany (13-3, 4-0 AE) is the four-time defending America East champion. Most recently, the Great Danes defeated Maine 64-59 on Saturday behind a game-high 34 points by Shereesha Richards. Richards, who has been named the America East Player of the Year the past two seasons, leads the conference with 24.6 points per game and is third with 8.9 rebounds per contest. Her teammate Imani Tate, ranks second in the America East with 17.9 points per night.

Albany leads the all-time series 32-25, having won the past 10 meetings. The Great Danes swept last year's meetings 82-49 at the Events Center on Jan. 14 and 75-53 on Feb. 11 at SEFCU Arena. Binghamton's last win in the series was a 41-40 triumph at Albany on Feb. 20, 2011. At the Events Center, the Bearcats last defeated Albany 50-44 on Jan. 20, 2011.
