VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton wrestling team hosts American on Friday, February 5. The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) match is set for a 7 p.m. start at the West Gym.
 
BU is 9-5 overall and 5-3 in the EIWA. It won a pair of bouts last weekend, defeating Ithaca, 36-6, and then taking down Sacred Heart, 38-4. Nine Bearcats won two matches on the weekend. In the win over Sacred Heart, Jesse Dellavecchia and Anthony DePrez each recorded pins and Jacob Nicholson tallied a technical fall.
 
American has a 4-5 record, including a 1-3 mark in the league. It dropped home matches against Duke, 23-13, and Columbia, 28-9, last weekend. David Terao, the ninth-ranked grappler in the 125-pound division, won both of his contests on the day.
 
Coach Matt Dernlan's squad has won four of its last five outings. Steve Schneider sports a 17-5 record on the season. The sophomore is ranked #20 among 184-pounders in the latest Wrestling Report. Senior Jack McKeever, the 28^th-ranked 174-pounder, has a 13-7 mark. Vincent DePrez is 19-10 as a 157-pound competitor.
 
Terao has been the Eagles' top grappler this season. The senior is 17-2 overall and 8-0 in dual action. He has qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of the last three seasons. John Boyle, a 157-pounder, is 20-6. The 2015 NCAA qualifier stands #15 in his weight class this year.
