Women's Lacrosse Loses Defensive Showdown 4-3

Binghamton and Marist combine for lowest scoring game in program history

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—Binghamton women's lacrosse team (3-4) lost to Marist (3-3) 4-3 Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats opened the scoring with a Callon Williams free position goal at 25:55 in the first half. After a Red Fox goal, Rebecca Golderman scored for her fifth game in a row to give the Bearcats the lead heading into the half.

Marist tied the score, but Golderman helped Binghamton regain the lead with her second goal of the game. The Red Foxes closed the game, however, with a pair of goals.

Emma Jehle played the first half for BU, making five saves and allowing only one goal. Erin McNulty played the second half in net, and also made five saves. Amanda Marsh had two caused turnovers for the Binghamton defense.

The seven combined goals is the lowest scoring game in program history, breaking the record of 10 goals, set against Monmouth in 2011.

The Bearcats return to action at home against Sacred Heart at noon next Sunday.
