STORY LINES- Binghamton is making its 15th appearance in the America East Tournament. The Bearcats have advanced to the semifinals five times, most recently in 2012. Last season, Binghamton lost 78-71 to top-seeded Maine in the quarterfinal round. This marks the second year in a row and third time in program history that the Bearcats are the host team for the America East Tournament (the other instance came in 2007).
- Binghamton is in the midst of its best season since finishing 19-12 during the 2010-11 campaign. The Bearcats were picked to finish last (ninth) in the America East but instead tied for third place during the regular season. In the process, they have already tripled their win total from last year (four) and won more conference games (eight) than they did during the previous two seasons combined (four).
- Sophomore guard
Imani Watkins currently ranks fifth in the America East with 16.1 points per game. She is also fourth with 3.7 assists as well as 2.4 steals per game.
- Sophomore forward
Alyssa James ranks seventh in the America East in scoring (14.9 ppg.) and is fourth in rebounding (7.9 rpg). She also ranks first in the conference--and No. 15 in the nation -- with 2.97 blocks per game.
- Senior guard
Kim Albrecht is averaging 11.9 points per game and ranks second in the conference with a .414 three-point field goal percentage. In addition, Albrecht also ranks first in both the America East and the NCAA with a .918 free throw percentage (78-of-85).
- During the regular season, Binghamton and UMBC split the season series 1-1. The Retrievers won 62-51 in Baltimore back on Jan. 27 but the Bearcats answered with a 70-56 triumph on Feb. 24 at the Events Center. Sophomore guard

- In the America East Tournament, Binghamton is 2-0 all time against UMBC. The Bearcats won 72-66 in overtime in the 2006 quarterfinals as well as 66-54 in the 2009 quarterfinals. Both games took place in Hartford.
