PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Binghamton wrestling team took down Brown, 20-16, Friday night at the Pizzatola Sports Center Beauty and the Beast meet. BU pulled together six out of 10 bout wins in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) dual.  

Brown started the match with two wins against the Bearcat's as they were down 9-0 going into the 141 weight class. Stepping up for Binghamton, redshirt senior Dylan Caruana earned an 11-1 major decision win against Zeke Salvo. Freshman Parker Kropman continued that momentum as he fought for a 9-6 decision win against Travis Vasquez, pulling BU within 9-7.

Brown fought right back, posting wins in the next two weight classes. Down 16-7, redshirt sophomore Anthony DePrez stopped the bleeding with a 4-1 decision over Andrew LaBrie at 174. From there, Binghamton finished out the match with three more consecutive match wins. Junior Steve Schneider won 2-0 at 185 and redshirt sophomore Connor Calkins beat Ian Butterbrodt 8-2. Redshirt sophomore Mark Tracy delivered the big blow with a 17-6 major decision win at 197, allowing BU to slide past with a 20-16 dual win. 

With tonight's win, the Bearcats move to 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the EIWA. They return to the mat tomorrow afternoon at 5 p.m. to face Sacred Heart on the road.
