Women's Basketball Heads to Bucknell

Bearcats and Bison square off Wednesday at 6 p.m.











STORY LINES

- Binghamton (4-2) defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) 68-51 last Thursday to finish third in the Great Alaska Shootout. Senior guard Imani Watkins, the current America East Co-Player of the Week, scored a game-high 20 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Senior center Alyssa James finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and five blocks while junior forward Rebecca Carmody added 13 points. 

- Watkins continues to lead the America East with 20.3 points per game while sophomore guard Kai Moon is averaging 11.8 points per night. Senior center Alyssa James, meanwhile, leads the conference with 4.8 blocks per game and is sixth with 6.8 rebounds. As a team, Binghamton leads the America East in rebounding (44.0 rpg.) and blocks (9.0 bpg. ) and is second in scoring (70.5 ppg.).

- Bucknell (4-3) is the defending Patriot League champion. On Sunday, the Bison won its second straight game with a 76-57 victory over Canisius. Kyi English, who leads the squad with 14.3 points per game, led four players in double figures with 17 points. Kaitlyn Slagus, meanwhile, is averaging a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game. 

- Bucknell leads the all-time series 7-2, having won the past six meetings. Last year, the Bison took a 67-57 decision on Nov. 11 at the Events Center. Imani Watkins led all scorers with 26 points while Kai Moon finished with 13 points in her debut. The Bearcats' last win the series was a 58-57 triumph at West Gym on Dec. 8, 2001. At Sojka Pavillion, Binghamton last won 84-72 back on Jan. 22, 2001.
