Women's Basketball Returns Home to Face NJIT

Bearcats and Highlanders Square Off Sunday at 2 p.m.









STORY LINES

- Off to its best start since the 2011-12 season, Binghamton (5-4) won 55-47 at Bryant on Thursday night. Senior guard Imani Watkins led all scorers with 19 points while sophomore guard Kai Moon added 10 points. Senior center Alyssa James, meanwhile, finished with five blocks and nine rebounds. Junior forward Rebecca Carmody added eight rebounds -- all on the defensive end,  

- Watkins leads the America East with 20.0 points per game while sophomore guard Kai Moon is averaging 11.9 points per night. James, meanwhile, leads the conference and the nation with 4.89 blocks per game. She is also third in the America East with 8.3 rebounds per night. As a team, Binghamton is first in the America East and third in the nation with 8.33 blocks per game. The Bearcats are also tops in the America East in rebounding (42.0 rpg.).

- NJIT (0-9) lost 64-50 at Lehigh on Wednesday. Tatianna Torres, who leads the Highlanders with 11.8 points per game, scored a team-best 13 points.  Taj Lewis added 12 points while Dez Allen chipped in 11 points. 

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against NJIT 2-1, having won the past two meetings. Last season, the Bearcats recorded a 68-44 road victory on Dec. 6. Imani Watkins scored a game-high 25 points while Kai Moon added 10 points. Torres led the Highlanders with 11 points. In the only previous meeting at the Events Center, Binghamton won 54-50 on Nov. 16, 2015.
