Women's Basketball Travels to Albany for Second-Place Battle in AE

Bearcats and Great Danes tip off Thursday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (12-12, 7-4 AE) defeated Vermont 76-61 on Monday night at the Events Center. Junior guard Imani Watkins, who ranks second in the conference and No. 28 in the nation with 19.1 points per game, finished with a game-high 25 points. Redshirt sophomore guard Jasmine Sina had 14 points and tied her career high with eight assists. Junior center Alyssa James turned in a 12-point, seven-rebound, two-block performance while sophomore forward Rebecca Carmody chipped in 10 points. As a team, Binghamton tied a season high with 12 three-point field goals and committed a season-low seven turnovers.

- Junior guard Imani Watkins is also second in the America East with 2.2 steals per game and seventh with 3.3 assists per night. Junior center Alyssa James, meanwhile, is first in the America East and No. 46 in the nation with 2.0 blocks per game. She also is third in the conference with 7.0 rebounds per game. Redshirt sophomore guard Jasmine Sina is tops in the America East and No. 47 in the nation with 2.7 three-point field goals per game. 

- Albany (14-10, 8-3 AE) handed first-place New Hampshire its first conference loss of the season with a 64-55 home decision on Monday night. Imani Tate, who leads the America East and ranks No. 18 in the nation with 19.8 points per game, finished with a team-best 14 points. For the season, Tate also ranks sixth in the conference with 3.3 assists per game and fifth with 2.0 steals per contest. As a team, the Great Danes are dishing out a conference-best 15.3 assists per game.

- Albany leads the all-time series 36-25, having captured the past 14 games. Most recently, the Great Danes rallied from a nine-point deficit in the second half to win 67-61 back on Jan. 19 at the Events Center. Junior guard Imani Watkins finished with a game-high 23 points. The Bearcats' last victory in the series was a 41-40 triumph on Feb. 20, 2011 in Albany.

- In addition to featuring the top two scorers in the America East, Thursday's game features the top two blocking teams in the conference. The Bearcats lead the way, and are No. 36 in the nation with 5.1 blocks per game. Albany, meanwhile is second with 4.8 blocks per game. Offensively, the Great Danes are second in scoring (66.8 ppg.) while Binghamton is third (63.2 ppg.).
