Women's Lacrosse Falls 20-4 to No. 4 Stony Brook

Bearcats return to action at UMBC on Wednesday

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (5-8, 1-1 AE) fell 20-4 to No. 4 Stony Brook (11-1, 3-0 AE) this afternoon in the America East conference matchup. Eleven Seawolves scored in today's contest, powering Stony Brook's offensive end.

Stony Brook jumped to a quick 2-0 lead to start the game before Jacqueline Kennedy netted a goal at 26:46 to put Binghamton on the board. Just over a minute later, Tiffany Ryan tied the score for the Bearcats on an assist from Kennedy. The Seawolves controlled the rest of the first half scoring 11 more goals before halftime to the Bearcats one. Rebecca Golderman scored her 36th goal of the season with 2:20 left in the first as Stony Brook took a 13-3 lead into the half.

The Seawolves opened strong again in the second half, scoring five consecutive goals in the first ten minutes. Kennedy scored again for the Bearcats at 8:32 on a free position shot to break Stony Brook's run, scoring the final Binghamton goal of the game. Stony Brook scored twice more before time ran out, securing a 20-4 win to advance to 3-0 in America East conference play.

The Bearcats return to the field for a midweek conference game against UMBC on Wednesday, April 12. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start time in Baltimore, Maryland.
