PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Binghamton Bearcats (6-4, 3-0 EIWA) head to Philadelphia for EIWA Competition this Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against the University of Pennsylvania before matching up with Drexel at 7 p.m.

The Bearcats are coming off two big wins as they took down Columbia and Hofstra last weekend in New York City. Binghamton took care of Columbia with a 20-14 win and finished the day with a 27-9 victory over Hofstra.

Joe Nelson, Jacob Nicholson, Joe Russ, Frankie Garcia, Vincent DePrez and Steve Schneider all went 2-0 on the day, while Tristan Rifanburg and Anthony Lombardo both earned wins over Hofstra.

Sights Set for Schneider
No. 9 Steve Schneider enters the weekend riding a five-match win streak in duals and an overall record of 9-4. Included in those nine wins are victories over ranked opponents No. 14 Jordan Ellingwood (Central Michigan) and No. 19 Dylan Gabel (Northern Colorado). The senior is 95-41 for his career heading into this weekend, rapidly approaching 100 career wins at 184 pounds.

NCAA Coaches Poll
The first NCAA Coaches Poll was released last week, giving an early insight into wrestlers in contention for bids to the NCAA Championships. The Bearcats had two wrestlers ranked- Steve Schneider (No. 10 at 184) and Vincent DePrez (No. 29 at 165). This weekend's opponents also ranked in the Coaches Panel include Penn's Frank Mattiace (No. 7 at 197) Penn's Joe Heyob (no. 21 at 184), Penn's May Bethea (No. 25 at 165). From Drexel's side, seven wrestlers were included in the poll. Preparing for Penn
University of Pennsylvania wrestling is coming off of a come-from-behind victory over Army West Point after being down 12-0 after three matches this past weekend. With that win, the Quakers move to 5-3 on the season, 2-1 EIWA. Last year the Bearcats fell to the Quakers 21-15 in a very tight match. With Penn holding an all-time record of 6-0 over Binghamton, the Bearcats look to break the streak and record their first team victory in the Palestra.

Dancing with the Dragons
Drexel is riding a four match win streak heading into the weekend. The Dragons recorded two victories this past Saturday by defeating Army West point (20-12) and Columbia (27-9). Drexel is 8-2 overall and is 3-2 in EIWA matches. Last year the Bearcats took down Drexel 22-12 and look to do the same this Saturday in Philadelphia. Binghamton holds a 10-5 advantage over Drexel in all-time matchups.
