STORY LINES
- Binghamton begins its 18th season competing at the NCAA Division I level and in the America East Conference. The Bearcats finished 20-12 in 2017-18 and advanced to the second round of the WBI. Junior guard

Rebecca Carmody (7.6 ppg., 6.8 rpg.) are the returning starters from last year's squad.
- In the America East preseason poll, Binghamton was picked to finish fifth. Moon was chosen to the Preseason All-Conference squad. In her sophomore season, Moon was named third-team all-conference.

Bethann Shapiro Ord begins her first season at the helm of the Binghamton program. She spent the past seven seasons as the head coach at Weber State. In her final three years, she went 57-41 and twice advanced to the WBI.
- Playing in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), Charleston finished 13-17 during the 2017-18 season. Becky Burke begins her first year as the Golden Eagles' head coach. In the MEC Preseason poll, Charleston was picked sixth out of 12 teams.
- This marks the first-ever meeting between Binghamton and Charleston in women's basketball.
- Binghamton is looking for its first season-opening win since defeating Mt. St. Mary's 52-43 on Nov. 11, 2013. In addition, the last head coach to win their first game at Binghamton was Laurie Kelly on Nov. 14, 1998. Known then as the Colonials, the squad defeated Cheyney (Pa. ) 80-48.
- November 6 marks the earliest regular-season game for Binghamton during its NCAA Division I era. The Bearcats' Nov. 18, 2013 game against Buffalo at the Events Center was the most recent earliest game.
- Binghamton tips off a season at the Events Center for the first time since the 2016-17 season. In the Bearcats' 17-year NCAA Division I era, this marks just the fifth team they have opened a regular season on thier home court. Binghamton is 1-3 in its previous Division I season openers.
