Women's Basketball Returns Home to Face Vermont

Bearcats and Catamounts Tip Off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

 





STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (17-8, 8-4 AE) won 68-53 at UMBC last Thursday for its program-record 10th road win of the season. Kai Moon led four Bearcat players in double figures with 17 points while senior center Alyssa James added 15 points. Senior guard Imani Watkins, meanwhile, had 11 points and in the process, became the second player in program history -- and 10th in America East history -- to score her 2,000th career point. Junior forward Rebecca Carmody turned in her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
- Watkins continues to lead the America East and ranks No. 13 in the nation with 21.5 points per game. She is also third in the conference in steals (2.5 spg.). James is tops in the America East and seventh in the nation with 3.3 blocks per game. She is also first in the America East -- and No. 29 in the nation -- in rebounding (9.9 rpg.). 
 
- As a team, Binghamton leads the conference and is tied for No. 13 in the nation with 5.8 blocks per game. The Bearcats are also first in the America East in rebounding (39.6 rpg.), second in scoring (65.5 ppg.) and third in scoring defense (57.7 ppg.). In addition, Binghamton is No. 22 in the nation in field goal percentage defense (.361), No. 43 in scoring defense and No. 50 in steals (10.0 spg.).
 
- With 2,006 career points, Watkins ranks second all-time in Binghamton program history and No. 10 all-time in the America East. Bess Greenberg set the program record with 2,024 points from 1997-01. Watkins is 18 points away from tying -- and 19 from breaking -- Greenberg's record.
 
- Vermont (8-17, 5-7 AE) lost 65-60 at UMass Lowell on Sunday. Sydney Smith led the Catamounts with 19 points. Hanna Crymble is second in the America East in both scoring (18.2 ppg.) and blocks (1.7 bpg.). 
 
- Vermont leads the all-time series 21-14 but Binghamton has won the past five meetings, including a 62-48 triumph in Burlington back on Jan. 21. James finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.

- Imani Watkins is 18 points away from tying (and 19 points away from breaking) Binghamton's all-time program record of 2,024 -- set by Bess Greenberg from 1997-01.
- Alyssa James is 19 rebounds away from the 1,000-mark for her collegiate career. She has 970 rebounds at Binghamton (sixth all-time) and had 291 rebounds during her freshman year at Caldwell University -- giving her 981 for her career.
- With 198 three-point field goals during her career, redshirt junior guard Jasmine Sina is two treys away from becoming the fourth player in Binghamton history to have 200 for her career.
- With 82 blocks so far this season, Alyssa James is 10 rejections away from tying her own America East record (92 in 2015-16). She is also 13 blocks away from the Binghamton record (95, by Alicia Brennan in 1989-90).
