Women's Basketball Hosts Albany in Final Regular-Season Home Game

Bearcats and Great Danes Tip Off Thursday at 7 p.m.







STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (19-8, 10-4 AE) won 52-38 against UMass Lowell on Saturday. Senior guard Imani Watkins became the program's all-time scoring leader while senior center Alyssa James grabbed her 1,000th career rebound. James finished the game with 11 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks while sophomore guard Kai Moon also scored 11 points. Sophomore guard Carly Boland added 10 points and seven rebounds.
 
- Watkins continues to lead the America East and ranks No. 21 in the nation with 20.7 points per game. She is also third in the conference in steals (2.4 spg.). James is tops in the America East and fourth in the nation with 3.4 blocks per game. She is also first in the America East -- and No. 28 in the nation -- in rebounding (10.0 rpg.). 
 
- As a team, Binghamton leads the conference and is No. 11 in the nation with 6.1 blocks per game. The Bearcats are also first in the America East in rebounding (39.9 rpg.) and second in scoring defense (56.3 ppg.). In addition, Binghamton is No. 16 in the nation in field goal percentage defense (.356) and No. 28 in scoring defense.  
 
- Albany (22-5, 11-3 AE) won 79-45 over visiting UMBC on Saturday. The Great Danes are the six-time defending America East Championships. Jessica Fequiere ranks second in the America East in scoring (17.8 ppg.), eighth in rebounding (8.0 rpg.) and is tied for seventh in steals (2.0). Mackenzie Trpcic, meanwhile, is averaging a conference-best 6.8 assists per game.
 
- As a team, the Great Danes lead the America East is scoring (69.8 ppg.) and assists (15.74 apg.). Albany is also second behind Binghamton in rebounding (37.9 rpg.) and blocks (3.3 bpg.).
 
- Albany leads the all-time series 38-25, having won the past 16 meetings. Earlier this season, the Great Danes won 63-46 at home on Jan. 15. Watkins had 18 points while Moon finished with 14 points. Binghamton's last victory in the series was a 41-40 decision at Albany on Feb. 20, 2011.
 
A Win Over Albany Would...
 
- Be the Bearcats' fifth straight win -- and their ninth win in the past 10 games.
- Give Binghamton 20 wins for the season -- the most during its 17-year NCAA Division I era and its highest win total since going 22-7 during the 2000-01 campaign.
- Clinch Binghamton's second 11-win season in America East play and its first since going 11-5 in 2010-11. The 11 conference wins is the Bearcats' best America East total over a 16-game schedule.
- Mark its best record through 28 games since being 21-7 during the 2000-01 season.
- Break Albany's 16-game winning streak in the series between the two teams.
 
Milestones to Watch for vs. Albany...
 
- Imani Watkins has 559 points so far this season. She needs 17 points to tie -- and 18 to break -- Binghamton's single-season record of 576 points, set by Bess Greenberg in 1999-00.
- Alyssa James has 93 blocks so far this season. She needs two rejections to tie -- and three to break -- the program record of 95, by Alicia Brennan in 1989-00.
