Arthur and Golderman register hat tricks for the Bearcats

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team fell 12-10 to the UAlbany Great Danes Saturday afternoon at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. Senior Brianne Arthur and junior Rebecca Golderman headed the Bearcats offense, each registering a hat trick on the day.

Binghamton sparked early in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead over UAlbany in the first five minutes. Arthur assisted senior Skye Schumacher before netting one of her own to push the Bearcats ahead. Senior Tiffany Ryan added a third BU goal shortly after, holding a 3-1 lead over the Great Danes just under 10 minutes into the game. UAlbany scored seven goals to Binghamton's one to close out the first half, taking an 8-4 lead over the Bearcats into halftime.

A recharged Binghamton entered the second half rearing to go, notching two goals early to close in on the Great Danes. Freshman Paige Volkmann scored the first goal of the half right before Golderman found the back of the net for her first of the game. Chipping away, UAlbany and Binghamton traded for the next four goals, keeping the Bearcats within two with 14 minutes to go. At the 10 minute mark, Arthur peeled through the middle of the field and found the back of the net for her third of the game to bring the Bearcats within one. Golderman immediately followed suit, scoring her third of the game as the Binghamton sideline erupted in cheers. Tied at 10 with nine minutes to go, UAlbany got the go ahead, netting the final two goals of the game to walk away with a 12-10 victory.

Kennedy finished the day with one assist, four ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. Arthur added an assist to her three goals, totaling for four points, while Golderman finished with three goals and one ground ball.
