After four years at Binghamton, Cimino accepts head coaching position at St. Francis (N.Y.)

VESTAL, N.Y. - After guiding the Binghamton women's basketball program for the last four seasons, including an historic 20-win campaign this past winter, head coach Linda Cimino has accepted the head coach position at St. Francis College in Brooklyn. Binghamton will immediately begin a search for her successor.

"We appreciate all that Linda has done to rebuild our women's basketball program and we wish her all the best at St. Francis," Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott said. "I know she has strong ties to the New York metropolitan area and she will undoubtedly do a great job for St. Francis. We will miss her at Binghamton."

Cimino's 2017-18 Bearcats went 20-12 and earned the program's first-ever Division I national postseason berth when they reached the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI). It marked the first time in 17 seasons that BU had won 20 games.

Cimino was named the America East Coach of the Year in 2016.

Under her leadership, BU went from a four-win team in 2014-15 to 20 wins this past winter. In the last three seasons, the Bearcats have averaged 15+ wins and have played at or above .500 in conference play each year.
