Bearcats and Jaspers kick-off at 6 p.m. in Riverdale

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer will try to snap a two-game losing streak when the Bearcats (2-3-1) travel to New York City to face Manhattan (1-2) Thursday. The teams kick-off at 6 p.m. at Gaelic Park.

Binghamton is coming off a pair of shutout road defeats at St. Francis (3-0) and Duquesne (1-0) last weekend. The team played the weekend without three regular starters and four key contributors, who are out with injuries. The Bearcats are unbeaten at home this season (2-0) and will look to extend that mark.

Senior forward Kayla Saager leads the team with three goals and eight points. Junior forward Ryan Reilly has a goal and an assist.

Freshman keeper Haylee Poltorak has a 1.00 goals against average in six starts.

Manhattan has played just three games so far this fall. The Jaspers had their scheduled contest against North Florida canceled on Sunday when bad weather hit Jacksonville. Manhattan began its season with losses to La Salle (1-0) and fellow America East school Hartford (3-1) and then defeated Jacksonville (2-1) in its most recent outing last Friday.

The team returned nine starters and 23 letterwinners from a 10-win team that reached the MAAC championship game in 2017. Manhattan was picked to finish fourth (of 11) in the MAAC Preseason Poll. Senior midfielder Emma Saul and junior forward Arianna Montefusco were each named to the preseason All-MAAC squad after each notching All-MAAC honors a year ago. Saul had four goals and a MAAC-leading nine assists. Montefusco finished third in the MAAC with nine goals.

Senior keeper Kelly DiGregorio has a 1.67 goals against average and has made 6.0 saves per game (30th in country).

Binghamton leads the all-time series 4-1-1 and has won two in a row, including a 2-1 home win last August. In that game, Saager tallied a goal and an assist and defender Sam O'Malley scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute.
