WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford (11-11, 4-3 America East) exploded out of the gate with 12 first-half 3-pointers and pinned an 86-60 loss on visiting Binghamton (6-16, 2-5 AE) Wednesday night from Chase Arena.
The Hawks hit 8-of-11 from beyond the arc to start the game and built a double-digit lead six minutes into the contest. Hartford stretched it to as many as 20 points before the Bearcats brought it back to 17 at half, 44-27.
The Bearcats drew no closer than 19 in the second half.
Hartford wound up with 19 3-pointers for the game (19-of-32, 61%) and shot 54 percent.
Freshman guard
Sam Sessoms scored a game-high 22 points (10-of-17 FG) and senior forward
Chancellor Barnard added 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, barely missing his third double-double of the season.
Binghamton next plays at Albany Saturday night.
