VESTAL, N.Y. - After seeing its six-game unbeaten streak snapped on Sunday, Binghamton women's soccer (8-3-2, 2-1-1 America East) looks to regain momentum when the Bearcats face Maine (4-5-1, 0-3-1 AE) in a Sunday road match.Â
The Bearcats sit in a tie for third place with four regular season games remaining. The team is looking to snap a two-game goal-scoring drought that resulted in a scoreless tie at Albany and a 2-0 home loss to Stony Brook - two of the top teams in the conference.Â
Junior forward
Essie Bonney leads the team and is tied for second in the conference with five goals. Freshman midfielder
Olivia McKnight has a team-best 12 points (4-4=12), which is tied for third in the America East. Sophomore forward

After starting the season 6-1-1, Maine is working through a current five-game winless streak (0-4-1). On Sunday, the Black Bears scored in the 10th minute against Hartford and held a 10-8 shots advantage, but the Hawks scored the final two goals to win 2-1. Maine has a 1-1 tie with Vermont to its credit and has dropped a pair of one-goal games in conference play, in addition to a 2-0 setback to the same Stony Brook team that also beat BU by the same count.Â
Sophomore keeper Kira Kutzinski has played the last three conference games and has a 0.96 season goals against average. Her 82.8 save percentage ranks second in the America East.
