Women's Basketball Hosts NJIT in Final Non-Conference Game

Bearcats and Highlanders Tip Off Monday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (10-2) defeated Grambling State 88-67 on Dec. 20 at the FIU Holiday Hoops Showdown. Senior guard Kai Moon finished with 23 points followed by junior forward Kaylee Wasco with 16 points. Sophomore forward Annie Ramil, meanwhile, turned in a 15-point, 11-rebound performance. Moon was named to the FIU Holiday Hoops All-Tournament Team.
 
- Moon continues to lead the America East and ranks No. 12 in the nation with 20.9 points per game. She also ranks fourth in the conference with 1.8 steals per game. Fellow senior guard Carly Boland is 10th in the conference in scoring (11.3 ppg.), tied for sixth in blocks (0.9 bpg.) and is seventh in assists. (3.2 apg.). Ramil is tied for third with 7.4 assists per game.
 
- NJIT (3-9) lost 99-43 at Columbia on Dec. 21. Danielle Tunstall leads the Highlanders with 12.8 points per game so far this season. She is also averaging a team-best 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals per game.
 
- Binghamton leads the all-time series against NJIT 3-1, having taken the past three meetings. Most recently, the Bearcats won 67-36 at the Events Center on Dec. 10, 2017. Binghamton has won both matchups at home against the Highlanders.
 
- Binghamton is receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll for the fourth straight week. The Bearcats were named one of the five "Under the Radar" Teams in the nation by NCAA.com back on Nov. 28.
 
- As a team, the Bearcats are off to their best 12-game start since the 1999-00 season. In the 47-year history of the program, seven Binghamton teams have started off the season 10-2.
