Women's Lacrosse Opens Season at #15 Syracuse

Bearcats look to get their first win against the Orange

SYRACUSE, N.Y – The Binghamton's women's lacrosse team travels to #15 Syracuse for a 6 p.m. game in the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised on ACC Network Extra and broadcasted on WJPZ 89.1FM.

Coach Stephanie Allen starts her seventh season as head coach of the women's lacrosse program, assisted by Courtney Bertolone, Danielle Cross, and student Vanessa Walters.


Binghamton Notes
  • The Bearcats return from a record-breaking season finishing 8-9 and third in the America East.
  • All-Conference duo Paige Volkmann and Rebecca Golderman will spearhead an aggressive Binghamton offense.
  • Volkmann contributed 20 goals, earning a spot on the All-Rookie team. Golderman scored  27 goals and was named second team All-Conference.
  • Taylor Passuello returns in goal for the Bearcats after over 600 minutes played in 2018, and being named second team All-Conference.
  • Golderman and Passuello are joined by Kaia Gallop and Olivia Batista as team captains.  
Syracuse Notes
  • Syracuse eased into their season with an 18-6 victory over UCONN at home on Friday.
  • The Orange were placed fifth (out of 8) in the ACC preseason poll after going 9-10 last season.
  • Junior attack Emily Hawryschuk leads the Orange after contributing 53 goals and 61 points last season.   
Series History
The last time the two teams met in 2017, Syracuse earned a 16-5 victory at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse has a 6-0 all-time record against Binghamton.

The Bearcats play host to Niagara on Sunday, Feb. 17 for their home opener at 1 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
