Wrestling Hits the Road to Close Out Regular Season

Bearcats set to wrestle Cleveland St. at 1 p.m. and Kent St. at 6 p.m.

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Binghamton wrestling team heads to Ohio this weekend for back-to-back dual matches to close out its regular season. The Bearcats will take on Cleveland State at 1 p.m. before heading to Kent State at 6 p.m.

Binghamton Notes
  • Binghamton is riding an eight match win streak
  • This will be the Bearcats first time competing with Cleveland St.
  • Kent State defeated Binghamton 41-3 on Dec. 8, 2002 at the M.A.C. Center, Kent State leads series 1-0.
  • Six Binghamton wrestlers took victories in 25-17 win over Bucknell last time out
  • Joe Doyle got back in the win column with a major decision last match.
  • Audey Ashkar defeated Jakob Campbell who was ranked 32nd in the first NCAA rating percentage index
  • Anthony Sparacio is on a 10-0 run as of late, looking for his 11th win
  • Vincent DePrez earned his 90th career win last time out
  • #9 Lou DePrez will face #18 Andrew McNally (29-5) against Kent State   

Cleveland State Notes
  • The Vikings are 4-11 this season in dual matches
  • The match will be wrestled at Woodling Gymnasium   
  • The Vikings are led by Armando Torres (133) with 27 wins, Nico O'Dor (157) with 22 wins and Brady Barnett leads team with 8 pins

Kent State Notes
  • The Golden Flashes are 7-14 this season in dual matches
  • The match will be wrestled at the M.A.C. Center  
  • #18 Andrew McNally (184), (29-5), is currently sitting 5th in the nation for pins with 12.
  • Senior Isaac Bast is looking for 94th career victory
  • Last time out Kent State lost 22-13 to Northern Illinois; McNally (197), Shane Mast, Spencer Berthold (285) all secured victories
