Bearcats are undefeated in their last four games; Kick-off set for 1 p.m. in Durham

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (7-2-1, 1-0 America East) looks to extend its hot streak when the Bearcats travel to Durham to face New Hampshire (5-4-0, 1-0 AE) Sunday. The teams will square off at 1 p.m. at Wildcats Stadium in a game shown on ESPN3.

Binghamton has gone 3-0-1 in its last four games, including a 3-2 home win over Vermont in its last outing on Sunday. In that game, BU shook off an early conceded goal and scored three straight to remain unbeaten at home (5-0) this season. The win also allowed Binghamton to equal its win total from all of last season, still with seven regular season games remaining.

Junior forward Dora Hayes scored a highlight-reel goal to tie the game in the 11th minute. She began a dribble from the left sideline across into the middle and ripped a 35-yard shot to the upper right netting. It was Hayes' third goal of the season and propelled her to social media fame as the No. 6 play on ESPN Sports Center Top 10 Plays of the Week. Hayes' goal was also featured as the No. 1 Play of the Week on the NCAA Soccer social media channels.

Junior forward Essie Bonney and junior midfielder Ivana Pjetri also scored goals. Bonney netted her team-high fifth of the season, which leads the entire America East.

Freshman midfielder Olivia McKnight leads the team and conference with 11 points on four goals and three assists. Sophomore forward Stefania Piantadosi ranks second in the America East in assists with four. Hayes has three goals, which gives the Bearcats three players with three or more goals - already two more players than last season.

Sophomore keeper Haylee Poltorak has a 1.08 goals against average (fourth in conference) and four shutouts.

New Hampshire opened league play with a 2-0 win at UMBC last Sunday. The Wildcats scored twice in the first half and posted their second straight shutout and fourth on the season. New Hampshire has allowed only one goal in its last three combined games. The Wildcats have scored 10 of their 14 goals in first-half action this season. Senior forward Ally Reynolds and freshman midfielder Whitney Wiley lead the team with three goals apiece. Sophomore keeper Cat Sheppard has allowed just six goals in nine games (0.68).

The Wildcats returned 19 letterwinners, including 10 seniors, from a team that garnered the No. 6 seed in last year's tournament. They were then edged 1-0 in the quarterfinals by eventual champion Albany. The team had one first-place vote and was picked to finish fifth in this year's presesason poll - two spots ahead of the Bearcats.

New Hampshire leads the all-time series 10-5-6, on the strength of four straight wins and a current eight-game unbeaten streak head-to-head. Binghamton hasn't won since a 1-0 quarterfinal victory in Durham in 2011. Since then at UNH, the teams tied twice (2013, 2014) before New Hampshire posted home wins of 6-0 (2015) and 2-1 (2017).
