Women's Basketball Hosts Maine

Bearcats and Black Bears tip off Saturday at noon

 STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (12-5, 1-3 AE) lost 65-62 at Vermont on Wednesday. Senior guard Kai Moon finished with a team-best 22 points. Fellow senior guard Carly Boland turned in a 13-point, seven-rebound, two-assist, two-block, two-steal performance. Sophomore forward Annie Ramil added 12 points.
 
- Moon ranks first in the America East and is No. 17 in the nation with 20.2 points per game. She is also tied for first in the conference with 2.1 steals per game. Ramil is tied for fifth in the America East with 7.1 rebounds per game while Boland is tied for fifth in assists (3.1 apg.) and is third in blocks (1.2 bpg.). As a team, Binghamton continues to lead the America East with 68.9 points per game. 
 
- Maine (7-12, 3-2 AE) lost 66-57 at first-place UMass Lowell on Wednesday. Anne Simon led the Black Bearcats with 15 points while Maddy McVicar added 11 points.
 
- Dor Saar leads Maine and is No. 14 in the America East with 10.9 points per game. She is also second in the conference with 4.5 assists per game. Maeve Carroll ranks fourth in rebounding (7.2 rpg.).
 
- The Black Bears are without reigning America East Player of the Year Blanca Millan, who is out for the year with an injury. Millan led Maine to the 2018 and 2019 conference championships.
 
- Maine leads the all-time series 24-14, having won the past three meetings. Last season, the Black Bears won 95-66 at home on Jan. 27 as well as 67-60 at the Events Center on March 2. Binghamton's last win in the series was a 66-62 overtime decision on Jan. 6, 2018. At the Events Center, Maine has won the last two games.
 
- Binghamton and Maine are ranked first and second in the America East in free throw percentage. The Bearcats are tops at 77.5 percent followed by the Black Bears at 73.9 percent.

 
MILESTONES TO WATCH FOR VS. MAINE
 
- A victory would give the Bearcats 13 wins for the year, which would already surpass the 12 wins they had last season.
- With 1,211 career points, senior guard Kai Moon is 16 points away from tying Karen McClelland (1996-00) for ninth place all-time in program history with 1,227 career points. In eighth place with 1,229 career points is Alicia Brennan (1986-90).
