Women's Basketball Hosts First-Place Stony Brook

Bearcats and Seawolves tip off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (13-5, 2-3 AE) won 73-63 against Maine on Saturday. Senior guard Kai Moon poured in a team-best 26 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Junior forward Olivia Ramil added 16 points while sophomore forward Annie Ramil finished with 12 points. As a team, the Bearcats shot 47 percent from the field - their third-best performance of the season.
 
- Moon ranks first in the America East and is No. 13 in the nation with 20.5 points per game. She is also second in the conference with 2.1 steals per game. Annie Ramil is tied for fifth in the America East with 6.9 rebounds per game while senior guard Carly Boland is tied for seventh in assists (2.9 apg.) and is third in blocks (1.2 bpg.). As a team, Binghamton continues to lead the America East with 69.1 points per game. 
 
- Stony Brook (18-1, 6-0 AE) is receiving a vote in the current USA Today/WBCA Top 25 Poll. The Seawolves have won 15 straight games - the second-longest current streak in the nation - and were ranked No. 13 in the Jan. 14 CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll. 

- Most recently, Stony Brook won 73-53 at Albany on Saturday. Kaela Hilare led five players in double figures with 16 points. Cheyenne Clark finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds and four steals. 
 
- India Pagan leads Stony Brook and is fifth in the conference with 13.5 points per game. Clark is first in the America East with 8.5 rebounds per game while Hilare leads the conference and is No. 36 in the nation with 5.1 assists per game. As a team, the Seawolves are first in the conference and No. 14 in the nation in scoring defense (54.5 ppg.)
 
- The all-time series between Binghamton and Stony Brook is tied at 23-23. Since both programs joined the America East in 2001, the Seawolves hold a 20-17 advantage. Stony Brook swept both meetings last year, winning 65-56 at Binghamton on Jan. 9 as well as 68-53 at home on Feb. 6. At the Events Center, the Seawolves have a three-game winning streak dating back to 2017.
 
- With a 13-5 record, the Bearcats are off to their best start since going 15-3 to start the 2001-02 season. At the Events Center, Binghamton is 7-1, which is their best start since going 8-0 to start the 2010-11 campaign.
 

MILESTONES TO WATCH FOR VS. STONY BROOK
 
- With 1,237 career points, senior guard Kai Moon is nine points away from tying Rachel Laws (2002-06) for seventh place all time in program history with 1,246 career points. Cathy Mackin (1994-98) is sixth all time with 1,269 career points.
- A victory would give the Bearcats an 8-1 record at home this season.
- A win would be the Bearcats' first against Stony Brook at home since 2016.
- Stony Brook is the second team that the Bearcats have faced this season that is receiving votes in the USA Today/WBCA Top 25 Poll. Miami was the first back on Dec. 17.
- Binghamton has yet to beat a ranked team or a team that has been receiving votes nationally during its 18-year NCAA Division I era. The Bearcats have played in nine such games.
