The Binghamton University women's lacrosse team fell at the hands of No. 4 Syracuse by a score of 20-2 Sunday evening. Offensively, Alyssa Sanchez and Jamie Golderman were the Bearcats goal scorers, with Golderman's being her first of her collegiate career.
The matchup opened with a draw control in the favor of BU, but Syracuse was able to get a stop and scored a few minutes later. Despite a strong start defensively in the opening minutes for the Bearcats, the Orange were able to put the ball in the net 15 times in the first half.
Early in the second half, Sanchez was able to score a goal with a great individual effort as she weaved through several defenders and tucked away the shot in the lower right corner of the goal.
The defense held Syracuse to just five goals in the second half, and Jamie Golderman added her first goal of the season on a free position shot.
Defensively, Kelly Quinn caused two turnovers and picked up four ground balls. Sam Fama had three ground balls as well.
