Women's Basketball Heads to Stony Brook for AE Semifinals

Bearcats and Seawolves Tip Off Sunday at 4 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (22-8) is making its seventh appearance in the America East semifinals and the first since 2016. The Bearcats defeated New Hampshire 51-42 in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday night. Junior forward Olivia Ramil turned in a 17-point, 13-rebound, five assits performance. Senior forward Karlee Krchnavi added eight points and 11 rebounds.
 
- Senior guard Kai Moon, who was named the America East Player of the Year, continues to lead the conference and is No. 14 in the nation in scoring (19.9 ppg.). She is also tops in the conference in steals (2.3 spg.) and three-point field goals per game (2.87). The Bearcats continue to lead the America East in scoring offense (67.4 ppg.).
 
- Stony Brook (27-3) beat Albany 54-49 in overtime in the quarterfinals. Cheyenne Clark had 15 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. Defensively, the Seawolves rank No. 16 the nation with 55.0 points allowed per game and No. 44 with 40.6 rebounds per game.
 
- Stony Brook swept both regular season meetings this season, winning 67-60 at the Events Center on Jan. 22 as well as 58-54 at home on Feb. 12. Moon led all scorers with 21 points in the first game and 20 points in the second contest. Stony Brook has taken the past four meetings. Binghamton's last win over the Seawolves was a 69-64 decision on Feb. 5, 2018.
 
- Binghamton and Stony Brook have one prior meeting in the America East Tournament. The Seawolves took a 71-60 quarterfinal decision on March 5, 2010. The Seawolves were the No. 4 seed and the Bearcats were the No. 5 seed. The game took place in Hartford.


MILESTONES TO WATCH FOR VS. STONY BROOK
 
- Binghamton is seeking its first-ever trip to the America East finals.
- 23 victories would tie the third-highest total in program history. The Bearcats won 27 games during the 1999-00 season, 26 games during the 1998-99 campaign and 23 games in 1996-97.
- Senior guard Kai Moon needs two more three-point field goals to tie Jasmine Sina (2014-18) for fourth place all time with 204 treys.
