Kaylee Wasco scored a career-high 20 points and sophomore forward
Clare Traeger turned in a 10-point, 10-rebound performance, powering Binghamton (3-7, 3-5 AE) to a 58-56 win over New Hampshire (3-8, 3-5 AE) in an America East women's basketball game on Monday afternoon at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center. With the victory, the Bearcats gain a split in their weekend series against the Wildcats, having lost 57-52 on Sunday. In addition, they have also now won three of their last five games.
Wasco went 8-for-16 from the floor and made four free throws. She also grabbed six rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.
Traeger, meanwhile, recorded the first double-double of her career. She too also recorded a team-high two blocks - which was also her career high.
In a game that featured five ties and 17 lead changes, the Bearcats were down 56-55 with 15 seconds left in regulation. Sophomore guard
Denai Bowman was fouled and converted both of her free throws, giving the Bearcats a 57-56 advantage.
Trager then took over the game, blocking the Wildcats' final shot with one second left in regulation. She grabbed the rebound, was fouled and made the first of her two free throws to ice the win.
"I thought it was a great team effort," head coach
Bethann Shapiro Ord said. "Denai did not have the points she usually did but she made two huge free throws and her defense was outstanding. Clare and Kaylee came through at the end of the game and our coaching staff made some great adjustments from yesterday's game.

Cassidy Roberts each finished with eight points. For Roberts, who also posted three rebounds and three assists, the eight points matched her career high.
Ivy Gogolin led the Wildcats with 16 points. She finished the weekend averaging 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. Brooke Kane added 10 points.
After committing 24 turnovers on Sunday, the Bearcats committed only 11 miscues in the victory.
For the weekend, Wasco averaged 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. Bowman, meanwhile, finished with 11.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per contest.
Up next for the Bearcats is a weekend series at UMass Lowell. Tip off times are set for noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
NOTES: Wasco's previous career high of 17 points came against Niagara on Nov. 16, 2019 … with seven blocks on Sunday, Binghamton as a team averaged 8.0 blocks in the two games against New Hampshire … Bowman is currently tied for third in the America East with 13.0 points per game while Wasco is eighth (12.1 ppg.). Traeger is fifth in the conference with 7.0 rebounds per night.
