VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer looks to extend its home unbeaten streak and lock up a top-two tournament seed when the Bearcats (8-6-3, 4-2-2 America East) host SUNY rival Albany (4-7-4, 3-3-2 AE) in the regular season finale Thursday night. The teams will square off at 7 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.Â
Binghamton is riding a five-game unbeaten streak at home (4-0-1), where the Bearcats are unbeaten against America East opponents (3-0-1). Â
The Bearcats have clinched a postseason berth but can still finish anywhere from second to sixth after Thursday's games. A win gives BU the No. 2 seed and a bye into a home semifinal game next Thursday. A tie or loss likely moves the Bearcats into a quarterfinal game on Sunday. Binghamton will look to break a three-game scoreless funk that has slowed the team's momentum in the last two weeks. Injuries have played a key role as well.

Albany sits in seventh place in the standings and needs at least a tie to keep its postseason hopes alive (top 6 advance). The Great Danes have alternated wins and losses in their last four games and on Sunday, lost at NJIT in overtime 1-0. The team's marquee win was a 1-0 triumph at UMass Lowell. Senior forward Jasmine Colbert leads UA with eight goals and 17 points.
Â
Head-to-head, BU leads 11-6-3 since both programs elevated to Division I in 2001. Albany is 3-2-1 in the last six meetings however. Binghamton posted a 2-1 win last spring in Albany. The last time they met in Vestal, Albany scored a 1-0 win in 2018. The last six games have been decided by a goal or less.
