Men’s Soccer Loses 4-1 to Vermont

Richard nets Bearcat goal in final game of the season

VESTAL, N.Y. – Nacho Lerech and Alex Nagy each finished with a goal and assist, powering Vermont (11-4-2, 6-1-1 AE) to a 4-1 win over Binghamton (7-9-2, 2-6-0 AE) in an America East men's soccer match on Monday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The game marked the final contest of the Bearcats' season.

Lerech was the catalyst in Vermont taking a 2-0 lead at the half. He scored in the 19th minute and assisted on Joe Morrison's goal in the 31st minute. Garrett Lillie was also credited with an assist on the second goal.

Nagy, meanwhile, got his goal and assist in the second half. He scored in the 51st minute and tallied an assist on Jared Leheta's goal in the 59th minute.

The Bearcats finally got on the board in the 73rd minute on Georges Richard's first goal of the season. Junior back Will Noecker was credited with the assist.

The Catamounts finished with a 12-8 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.

The match marked the final contest for Binghamton's five seniors – Tim Leuenberger, Andrew McDonnell, Kosta Nika, Ryan Pyszka and Noah Luescher.

Luescher finished his illustrious Bearcat career with 19 career goals, which tied for second during Binghamton's 21-year NCAA Division I era. He also ranked second during that time period with 15 assists and 53 total points.
