Women's Basketball Hosts Cornell

Bearcats and Big Red square off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-0) defeated Canisius 73-56 on Saturday at the Events Center. Junior forward Clare Traeger finished with a career-high 21 points and game-high nine rebounds. Junior guard Denai Bowman turned in a 12-point, seven-rebound, five-assist, two-block, four-steal performance. Freshman forward Genevieve Coleman, meanwhile, added a career-high 11 points and eight rebounds.

- Bowman ranks third in the America East Conference with 17.5 points per game. She is also ninth with 3.5 assists per contest, tied for second with 1.5 blocks per game and is tied for first with 3.0 steals per game. Traeger is sixth with 14.5 points per game and is second with 9.5 rebounds per contest.

- Cornell (1-2) lost 66-54 to East Tennessee State on Sunday. Olivia Snyder and KC Carter each led the Big Red with 12 points. Theresa Grace Mbanefo leads Cornell with 10.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game so far this season while Snyder is averaging 10.0 points per contest.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against Cornell 11-8, having taken the past three meetings. Most recently, the Bearcats won 59-56 at Cornell on Dec. 5, 2019. 

- The Bearcats are off to a 2-0 start for the third time in four seasons. They are seeking their second 3-0 start in three years. Dating back to last season, Binghamton has won its past three games at the Events Center.
